Architect, Performance Engineering
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Architect, Performance Engineering . This role will be responsible for driving performance and stability improvements our web/mobile apps and ensure optimal end user experience by working closely with the Development, Engineering, Product, Architecture, Database and Operations teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute towards building automation/monitoring/data analysis tools for the performance engineering platform that will help teams understand and make better decisions on how their applications perform and scale.
Collaborate with teams to develop end to end performance engineering strategies and approaches.
Identify and resolve critical performance bottlenecks in APIs, web and mobile applications.
Apply the latest APM/tracing tools and work collaboratively with development teams to enable quicker resolution of performance issues.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug application and server errors / logs and triage accordingly.
Drive the Platform Engineering organization’s vision and strategy across the performance engineering track to attain consistency in method and process.
Stay abreast of the latest technology trends, coding standards, libraries and frameworks .
Required Qualifications
10+ years of PWA domain experience.
5+ years of experience focusing on improving architecture, performance, scalability and reliability of software products.
Experience with performance tuning of transactional APIs, web, and mobile applications.
Extensive monitoring experience using k6.js signoz.io or similar Advanced Performance Monitoring tools.
Experience with load testing tools such as k6.js Gatling etc.
Software automation development skills – javascript.
Understanding of mobile app (Android and iOS) and web technology stack (HTTP, REST, HTML, JavaScript, CSS etc).
Experience with RDBMS databases (Postgres) – querying, profiling and performance tuning.
Proficiency with nodejs internals as they relate to performance tuning and memory management.
Knowledge of container technologies like Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, cloud platform like Azure
Experience with CDN such as cloudfront, wasabi etc.
Nice to haves
Azure Certified Solutions Architect.
Experience in troubleshooting complex production incidents in multi and/or hybrid cloud.
Experience with automation of tools to support monitoring and alerts.
