How to turn traditional ticketing into smart solutions?

A subtask can be created for an issue to either split the issue into smaller chunks or to allow various aspects of an issue to be assigned to different people. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to create a subtask in Jira:

  1. Open the issue for which you'd like to create subtasks.
  2. Click on Add a child issue.
  3. Name your Subtasks.
  4. You can also define the Subtask type. When you create a subtask, the following values are inherited from the parent task. The Project, Issue Security Level, and Sprint value. (if any)
  5. You can see an option to view your subtasks on the board.
  6. Click on it, and your subtasks will appear on your board.

Note: If you find a subtask is holding up the resolution of an issue, you can convert the subtask to an issue to allow it to be worked on independently. If you find an issue is really just a subtask of a bigger issue, you can also convert an issue to a subtask.
