A Mile Deep Beats a Mile Wide: Why We Focus Agentic AI on Employee Service Delivery
Agentic AI makes almost every workflow look automatable. Here is why we still choose depth in IT, HR, and Fin Ops over breadth across business operations.

Key takeaways
- Rezolve.ai supports three functions (IT Ops, HR Ops, and Fin Ops), all within employee service delivery
- Fin Ops covers many employee-facing finance workflows that border back-office operations, but the anchor stays on the employee's request
- Depth (domain knowledge, tested integrations, and governance), is what turns agentic AI from a demo into dependable resolution
- Focus compounds: ~70% of requests are resolved before they ever become tickets
Earlier this week, a financial-services leader asked me a sharp question on LinkedIn: is Rezolve.ai focused only on ITSM-style IT operations, or do we also venture into business operations: for instance, supporting back-office functions for capital markets firms as the industry moves toward a 24x5 trading cycle?
It is exactly the kind of question every agentic AI company should have to answer in public. The comment-length version: we support three functions (IT Ops, HR Ops, and Fin Ops), all within employee service delivery, and we believe being a mile deep is better than being a mile wide. This post is the longer version, because the reasoning behind that choice matters as much as the choice itself.
The temptation of "agentic everything"
Agentic AI has changed what feels possible. When software can understand a request in natural language, reason over enterprise context, take action across systems, and explain what it did, nearly every operational workflow starts to look automatable. Capital markets back office is a genuine example: trade exceptions, reconciliations, settlement breaks, corporate actions, high-volume, rules-heavy, deadline-driven work. As trading windows stretch toward 24x5, the people running those processes are being asked to cover hours that never existed before. The pull toward agentic support there is real.
So when someone asks whether we could apply our platform to business operations, the honest technical answer is that much of the machinery would transfer. The strategic answer is different: just because an agentic platform could go wide does not mean it should. Every function you add dilutes the depth you can afford in the functions you already serve. We have made a deliberate choice about where our depth goes.
What we actually do: three functions, one mission
Rezolve.ai supports IT Ops, HR Ops, and Fin Ops. All three are part of a single mission, employee service delivery. The pattern is the same across all three: an employee needs something, and today that need turns into a ticket, a queue, and a wait.
Our platform is built to resolve those needs, not deflect them. Sidekick meets employees where they work (Teams, Slack, email, and voice), answers with grounded, cited responses, and executes routine requests end to end. Agent Assist supports the humans behind the queue with AI triage, summaries, similar-ticket search, and drafted replies. Agent Studio lets service teams build governed agents in plain language, with every automation approval-gated, audited, and explainable. And it all runs on a true ITSM system of record, standalone or on ServiceNow.
That combination is what depth looks like in practice, and it shows up in outcomes: roughly 70% of requests are resolved before they ever become tickets.
Where Fin Ops sits, and why the question was fair
Within Fin Ops, we do many activities that a back-office operations leader would recognize. Employee-facing finance work is full of them: expense and reimbursement questions, purchase-request and procurement status, invoice and payment queries, payroll and timesheet issues, approvals that route through finance systems. Executed by governed agents with the right integrations and audit trails, this work sits close to the boundary of business operations, which is exactly why the question was a fair one.
But the anchor never moves. Everything we automate begins with an employee asking their organization for something, and ends when that request is resolved. Trade settlement between counterparties is a different problem, with different systems of record, different regulators, and different failure modes. It deserves platforms built for it, by teams who go a mile deep on it.
Why a mile deep beats a mile wide
Enterprise AI fails at the edges, not in the demo. Getting a resolution right, not just a plausible answer, requires domain-specific knowledge, tested integrations, permissions-aware retrieval, and governance that compliance teams can actually inspect. That is why Sidekick is not one general-purpose bot but eight specialized AI agents reasoning over one shared conversation, and why autonomy in our platform is always paired with approval gates, audit trails, and explainability.
Depth is also what earns trust at scale. JLL runs Ask Ethics on Rezolve.ai for roughly 100,000 employees across more than 80 countries. TotalEnergies Denmark launched its first-ever HR chatbot on our platform, answering employees in about 30 seconds, around the clock. Those results are the compound interest of focus: every quarter spent going deeper into IT, HR, and finance service delivery makes the next resolution more reliable than the last.
Spread the same engineering effort across ten functions and you get ten shallow assistants that can answer questions but cannot safely act. Concentrate it in three, and you get autonomous resolution that a governed enterprise can actually turn on.
What this means if you are evaluating agentic AI
Ask every vendor the question I was asked, and pay attention to how they answer. Where are they deep, and what did they say no to in order to get there? A platform that claims every workflow in the enterprise is telling you its depth is an inch. For capital-markets back office, specialists will emerge who live in those systems and rules the way we live in employee service, and that is how it should be.
Our lane is clear: when your employees need something from IT, HR, or finance, it gets resolved, fast, governed, and explainable. If you want to see what a mile deep looks like, book a demo.
And to the leader who asked the question: thank you. The best product strategies survive being questioned in public.
